Koronadal City – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Region 12, led by Regional Director Usop D. Pendaliday, Jr., has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting hunger and poverty through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on May 31, 2023, at the BFAR regional office in Koronadal City.

This milestone event marks a significant step in the implementation of the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), the flagship program of the Inter-agency Task Force Zero Hunger. BFAR, along with 26 other national government agencies and partner stakeholders, is fully committed to the goals and objectives of EPAHP, aiming to address the urgent issues of hunger and poverty in the region.

The MOU signing, attended by Ibrahim Sangcupan, the EPAHP Regional Program Coordinator of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the BFAR head of the Fisheries Production and Support Services Division OMAR M. Sabal represents a collaborative effort to promote sustainable agriculture and ensure food security.

The ceremony was witnessed by Maria Angelica F. Cecilio, the focal person of EPAHP, and other representatives from BFAR and DSWD.
