The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)- XII participated in Sugbahan sa Dalan, one of the highlights the 2023 Tuna Festival on September 2, 2023 at Pioneer Avenue, General Santos City.


City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao headed the opening of the event. She acknowledged the presence of the participating organizations, national and local agencies, academe, and barangays.
Highlight during the event was the torched lighting ceremony which was participated by the representatives of different organizations.


The lighting of torched marked the official commencement of the Sugbahan sa Dalan. A big part of the Pioneer Avenue was flocked by a huge crowd who were so excited to join the festive grilling event. BFAR-12 took part in mobilizing participation of fisherfolk participation as it facilitated collection of more than a ton of fish used for grilling.


For this year’s edition of Sugbahan sa Dalan, BFAR 12 extends its gratitude to the companies who have extended support for the successful staging of this event, namely; SFFAII, Ranz Fishing, Roel Fishing Ventures, NH Agro, RLGFI Corporation, Sto. Niño Aqua Fishing Ventures Corp., Trans-Pacific Journey, Seagull Fishing, THIDCOR, SAL Fishing, MSV Fishing, Jebo Fishing, Rell and Renn Fishing Company, Tenpoint Manufacturing Corporation, Atlantis Fishing Devt.
